ADVERTISEMENT FOR BIDDERS DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC WORKS 14 Court Square Greenfield, MA 01301 Sealed Proposals addressed to the Department of Public Works, 14 Court Square, Greenfield, Massachusetts and endorsed “Proposal for Contract DPW 19-04, Maintenance Dredging of Upper Glen Reservoir” will be accepted by the Department of Public Works in Room 208, on the second floor of City Hall. Bids will be accepted until 2:00 p.m. on August 30, 2018, at which time said bids will be publicly opened and read aloud in the Community Meeting Room (#203) on the second floor of City Hall. Work consists of maintenance dredging of approximately 50,000 CY of sediment over a period of five years behind the dam and in five delineated sections of the Upper Glen Reservoir located in Leyden, MA. Each section contains approximately 10,000 CY of sediment to be dredged. It is anticipated that dredging would be conducted in a single section each year. Work also consists of the construction of a dewatering area approximately one acre in size. The Bid Security from the Contractor in the form of cash, certified check, treasurer’s check, or cashier’s check, drawn upon a responsible bank in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts or a bid bond in the amount of five percent (5%) of the bid shall be made payable to the City of Greenfield, Massachusetts and shall be enclosed with the bid. A 100% Performance Bond and 100% Payment Bond will be required of the successful bidder. Attention is called to the following: A. Bids for this project are subject to the provisions of the Massachusetts General Laws Chapter 30, Section 39M, as amended. B. Wages are subject to Massachusetts minimum wage rates as per M.G.L. Chapter 149, Section 26 to 27H inclusive. C.
